Designer Spotlight: Erika Powell of Urban Grace

urban grace14

We’ve admired the beautiful, coastal-inspired interiors designed by Erika Powell of Urban Grace Interiors since first discovering her blog a few years ago. Her aesthetic is traditional infused with a bit of modernity. While every space she designs is absolutely lovely, we are particularly fond of the gorgeous kitchens and bathrooms she has created for her clients. What makes us love Erika even more? The fact that she uses Visual Comfort & Co. lighting in nearly all of her design projects!

{One of many beautiful kitchens designed by Erika Powell, this one features four of our Sloane Single Shop Lights in Antique Nickel with Nickel Shades}

{This Urban Grace kitchen has made its way around the blogosphere for years and it certainly isn’t difficult to see why. The modern take on traditional elements gives the space a fresh, inviting look. For this kitchen, Erika opted for two Country Industrial Pendants in Polished Nickel.}

{I personally love this house. The blue-grey color of the cabinetry in this kitchen is beautiful and adds a unique spin to the classic elements we’ve seen in other kitchens: Carrera marble, great hardware, bridge faucets, etc. The backsplash and the Country Industrial Pendants in Antique Nickel make a bold statement within the space.}

{I love this trio of Boston Functional Library Two Arm Wall Lights over the beautifully framed windows in this lovely kitchen. The abundance of light, white paneling, and exposed brick give it such a unique look.}

{This lovely dressing room features a built-in dressing table and a glamorous pair of French Deco Horn Sconces in Polished Nickel.}

{In addition to the fantastic tile work and Urban Grace’s signature recessed cabinetry, this bathroom features our Pimlico Sconce in Polished Nickel with White Glass.}

{How great is the faucet in this bathroom? The sconce is our Marine Wall Light in Polished Nickel.}

{This bedroom is dressed in shades of cool aqua and warm taupe. The bedside lamps are a Visual Comfort favorite: the Large Chunky Urn Table Lamp in Alabaster.}

{Over the fireplace, Erika and the homeowners have opted for a pair of French Deco Horn Sconces in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass.On the bedside: Classic Balustrade Lamp in Crystal—Have you noticed how much natural light abounds in all of these beautiful spaces?}

{How cool are these built-in bunks? They are such a great idea for a beach house. The Marine Wall Lights in Bronze add the ideal amount of light for reading in bed.}

{This room is pretty much the definition of chic, coastal living, isn’t it? There are amazing views of the ocean from every angle. Featured on the wall, a pair of our Double Classic Wall Light in Polished Nickel.}

{This masculine bar features the Large Calliope Lamp by Thomas O’Brien for Visual Comfort in a combination of Bronze and Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass}

{I might feel a little more cheerful about doing laundry if this were my laundry room! Not only is it beautiful, it’s also very functional. There’s a sink for handwashing delicates, a marble countertop for folding the laundry, and cabinets for plenty of storage. The pendant over the sink is our Boston Functional Library Two Arm Wall Light. It looks like the ceiling fixtures are from our School House family of fixtures.}
